Graduate Fellowship in Humanistic Inquiry – Curriculum and Information

The Art and Science of Un-Learning

This fellowship is not about collecting certificates; it is an active practice of dismantling what you think you know to build a clearer, more ethical relationship with yourself and the world.

Through dedicated, one-on-one tutor-pupil mentorship, the curriculum is divided into four foundational pillars.

Term 1: The Scrutinized Self (Psychology & Biases)

Before we can understand the world, we must understand the lens through which we view it. This term focuses on confronting internal cognitive distortions and evolutionary programming.

  • Mapping the Internal Matrix: Introduction to the psychology of self-concept, ego defenses, and personal narrative construction.
  • The Anatomy of Bias: Deep dives into cognitive biases (confirmation bias, heuristics, and tribal thinking) that distort objective reality.
  • The Architecture of Awareness: Practical frameworks for self-scrutiny, meta-cognition (thinking about thinking), and recognizing subconscious conditioning.

Term 2: The Co-Created World (Sociology & Systems)

We do not exist in a vacuum. This term explores how our environments shape us, and how we, in turn, co-create the social structures around us.

  • The Social Mirror: Analyzing how sociological structures, cultural conditioning, and institutions quietly dictate human behavior.
  • Interdependence & Collective Bias: Examining groupthink, systemic biases, and the sociology of polarization in modern communities.
  • Conscious Co-Creation: Evaluating the individual’s role and responsibility in shaping healthier micro-cultures and environments.

Term 3: The Examined Life (Philosophy & Inquiry)

Drawing from classical and contemporary philosophical traditions, this term shifts the focus from “what to think” to “how to think.”

  • Epistemology & Truth: Exploring the nature of knowledge—how do we know what we know, and how do we sit comfortably with intellectual humility?
  • Humanistic Traditions: Existentialism, Stoicism, and Eastern philosophies as practical frameworks for modern living.
  • The Socratic Method in Action: Engaging in rigorous, dialogic inquiry with your tutor to deconstruct long-held personal dogmas.

Term 4: The Deliberate Human (Ethics & Application)

Knowledge without action is empty. The final term bridges theoretical un-learning with active, ethical stewardship of your life.

  • Moral Philosophy & Dilemmas: Understanding major ethical frameworks and applying them to complex, real-world personal and professional decisions.
  • The Practice of Empathy: Cultivating radical compassion, active listening, and perspective-taking as core human competencies.
  • The Blueprint for the Self: Designing a personal code of conduct and long-term practices to maintain intellectual honesty and continual growth.

Fellowship Highlights

  • The Tutor-Pupil Approach: You will not listen to passive lectures. You will actively debate, read, and write alongside a dedicated mentor who guides your personal inquiry.
  • 100% Remote & Accessible: Designed to fit into your life from anywhere in the world, with minimal tuition to ensure the pursuit of truth remains accessible.
  • An Alternative Space: We operate completely outside the boundaries of rigid university systems. Your growth is measured by your self-awareness, not a standardized test.
